The SV.Online was developed to simulate the tasks of a social ensurance of the perspective of a customer. SV.Online should on the one hand illustrate a realistic picture for the customer and should on the other hand reduce the number of tasks for the social insurance staff.

The social security contributions and accounting is the base of the program and is complemented by various other functions, such as customer and account management, the subscription/unsubscription of eompoyers and empleyees and more. The SV.Online is used for administering the social insurance of Austrian traing firms.

The SV.Online has to provide the following:

  • A social insurance for training firms has a limited staff (appr. 20-30 man-hours/week) and has to manage appr. 500 employers. Therefore a simple and fast operation is necessessary.
  • The training firms can electronically manage the social insurance. The goal is that the social insurance staff can concentrate on support and verifying the operation of training firms while the daily business is handled by SV.Online.
The SV.Online is implemented as a relational database in a client/server style:
  • Internet access is provided by SV.Online for customers
  • For the social insurance staff, a specific, multi-platform C++-based client was developed
  • As a server, a Linux system in combination with a relational database is used.
